It Works! Wrap - Review *and* Giveaway!

Let me just start off by saying I am a huge advocate for eating right and exercising. I do my best to maintain a healthy lifestyle, with the exercise and eating habits I want my daughter to grow up living. Sometimes I slip up, I'm only human. But going an extra day in between runs or having a small bowl of ice cream isn't going to throw me off my game completely. There's nothing wrong with a little indulgence now and again.

That being said, I am so excited to have been hooked up with Beth from Wrap Your Flaps, With Beth! Most of you, I'm sure, have heard of the It Works! products that are all over television and the internet these days. They're the current big thing in weight loss and are being sold all over the place! Well, I have had the opportunity to try out one of their body wraps.

When I first received my wrap, I tore open the packaging to see what was inside. Why? Because I had honestly forgotten it was coming in the mail to me and couldn't figure out who in the world was sending me something. But once I opened it,  I was very excited! I read over the instructions I was given carefully and decided I would start the following day.

Included in my packet was 3 vitamin packets and 3 greens packets. I was told to take those on three consecutive days, and to apply the wrap on the third day. They are not necessary for the wrap to work but it has been noted that they improve the results of some individuals. I figured I would give it a try! I was wary of how the greens would taste, though, because I tend to be kind of picky...

After taking the vitamins and mixing the greens into a glass of orange juice (it actually wasn't half bad!) for three days, it was finally time to apply the wrap! Yay!

Most of the pictures and reviews I have seen of this product show people who have tried it out on their stomachs. I decided I wanted to be different for a couple of reasons. One: I actually have a fairly flat stomach and I'm happy with it the way it is. Two: I have these things called love handles that I can't stand and I was curious to see if it would make a difference on that area of my body.

So, I enlisted the help of Mr. Boston to help get the application under way! Let me just say that Mr. Boston was not too thrilled that I was doing this. He repeatedly told me that he loves my body just the way it is and he wishes I would see how beautiful I am instead of being my own worst critic. He's such a sweetheart!

Anyways. So, after washing and drying my not-so-lovely love handles, we opened the package. Mr. Boston cut the wrap appropriately for application and we set to work.

Wrap: Check!
Plastic wrap: Check!
Apply the wrap to the area you choose
(I had to cut mine in half to apply it to my not-so-lovely love handles)

Cover with plastic wrap, tight bandage or form fitting clothes.
I opted for plastic wrap. It was easy to apply and stuck really well, but it was hard to move around in.
After applying the wrap and covering it with plastic wrap, I set my timer. And then I waited.

I was kind of curious to see how this would react with my skin. I am known for having really sensitive skin, and a lot of the time scented lotions cause me to break out. But I wanted to try this one out and see how it worked for me! Unfortunately, I don't think I will be using a body wrap again because I did end up with quite the burning/tingling sensation where it was applied, but I didn't actually break out. So it's a win/lose situation for me.

Finally my 45 minutes wait was up and it was time to check out my results! Are you ready to see them??

I didn't check my weight when I started, because I wasn't worried about whether or not I lost weight. I did, however, measure around my love handles. Before I applied the It Works! Wrap I was measuring at 37 inches. I am happy to report that I am now measuring at 34.5 inches!

I'm giving this product a big round of applause!

A 2.5 inch difference may not seem like much, but it really is a lot for just a three day period. And even though I still have some work to do to get rid of my love handles, this helped me to get a good jump start and I am already feeling much better about myself and wildly optimistic!

  4. I'd love to apply to several places. I've known various people to do this as a job. They didnt get too far with it. and I've been told I need to do it but I doubt it would do any good. Times are hard and people are just short funded. But more power to those who do.

would love to see you link up girl. Have a great weekend.
